Focus in Research and Teaching
Ancient History, Medieval History, Early Modern History, Modern History, East European History and History Didactics – in Oldenburg you may study history in its full range. The teaching and learning profile is characterized above all by three features:
- Culture of history and history lessons with emphasis on empirical research in teaching and learning; the consideration of cultural historical questioning and methods from the ancient world to contemporary history
- Comparative history of North West Europe (Germany, England, the Netherlands) from the Middle Ages to the 20th Century under aspects of political, social, and economical history.
- Research and Teaching on East European History, also in cooperation with the “Federal Institute for Culture and History of the Germans in Eastern Europe“.
